Feel to See 03:27
Blue skies, looking down on me. And I’m told, the clouds are smiling at me. How long, has it been Since you’ve seen a rainbow, or hopped in your car for a drive? I’ve found a new way, for me to see It might not even be, close to reality. But then again, what’s reality You’re gonna waste your life, thinking it’s just what you see. But you can taste the air, and you can smell the breeze You can dance, you’re alive, as alive as the wind in the trees. Don’t be fooled, by my pretty disguise You got to feel to see, you got to feel to be. There’s a bond, between you and me Your hand on my chest, you and me, we’re like all the rest. And there’s a reason you can feel my heart And there’s a reason I can feel your heart. And there’s a reason you can feel my heart. And there’s a reason I can feel your heart. I’ve found a new way, for me to see Not what’s in front of me, but only what I believe. Don’t tell me, that you can’t see what you love.

Problems 06:05
There’s a bird, down in Taliabu Sittin high, high in the trees all shy Hasn’t got a name, but it’s got a voice, all the same. I can see the mountains, for the first time in my life, all these thirty years There’s something runnin down the road Yeah it used to live here, but that was a long long long long long time ago. We’ve got problems, we can’t see. And why now, a mother’s song Oh, come alive. Begging those who’ve heard, the transparent word About what we might, we might do. We’ve got problems, we can’t see. We’ve got problems, we can’t see. There’s a bird, down in, down in Taliabu. Survival Count your money all alone. Survival only matters as long Count your money all alone. Survival only matters as long, as there’s a you and me. Count your money all alone, the rest want to see. Survival only matters as long, as there’s a you and me. Count your money all alone, the rest want to see. As there’s a you and me. The rest want to see. As there’s a you and me. The rest want to… Down in, down in, down in Taliabu.

Lies 04:34
Lies get told in the ways that we, we believe Expressions are better, way better than reality Lord Alfred told us, it’s better to love and lost than never love before That sounds like the kind of thing said by somebody who’s learned to love again I’ve got one trick only, girl’s barely in love. I’ve got one trick only, girl’s barely in love. Some guys can do it, they spread their hearts as thin as a grain of sand. Or they turn their hearts to stone, sandcastles for lovely waves to crash against. Mine is a hard worn thread, torn from a leather jacket granddaddy gave to me. Let’s put it back together, see what a man might really be. I’ve got one trick only, girl’s barely in love I’ve got one trick only, girl’s barely in love. I’ve got one trick only, the girl She’s barely in love. If I could live again, find my love and my friends. If I could, If I could. If I could live again, find my love and my friends. If I could, If I could. If I could live again, find my love and my friends. If I could, If I could.

I wanted your voice To describe the world to me Everything that I Everything I cannot see. I wanted your voice Make the world real for me But then you saw true colors and you ran from me. How was I to follow you Stand screaming, the blood is proof Now there’s only one voice, one note where once was two I wanted your voice Destroy the world for me. But then you saw true colors and you ran But then you saw true colors and you ran from me. Color me in black and red Muddy browns and faded green My white hat spotted with dirt Pictures whispered, meant to, meant to hurt. Meant to hurt…

Life though sweet and ripe Sometimes is ruined Fallen from a tree Bruised my beloved Is it there if you can’t see it Cut it out or do you eat it A lover’s quarrel with the world…

about

A Lover’s Quarrel with the World

At ten-years-old, I stand in my parents’ yard, rural Kentucky in my Sunday best. The African-American church next door crackles with electricity, windows raised against summer heat. In clapping hands and voices raised, I hear a conduit, connection.

I am a boy, and my eyes are already blurring. Enough has been said—adult whisperings over me and around me, that I am afraid. Blindness looms like a specter. The life ahead is mystery, question marks and fill-in-the-blank puzzles.

I drink in the magic next door, raw and confused. But the tortured souls across the fence remain joyous, present with glory. A thought whispers to me. Quietly. It takes me thirty years to understand.

Your voice cutting through the dark, a catalyst of magic in your hands, Rock ‘n roll is your haven. It belongs to the recluse. Meant for the angry and oppressed; cast your spell. Scream and be heard.

Here, the misfits need not feel alone. Music will light up the dark.

about

JT Word Lexington, Kentucky

JT Word is a long-time drummer turned shouting machine. Hailing from Black Dot, KY, JT is not your average farm boy. Life and loss go hand-in-hand, and if you’ve spent your entire life slowly going blind, you know that better than most. JT doesn’t waste his gravelly voice or his emotional delivery on the trivial. These songs are about the universal, things seen by heart and soul. ... more
